The New York Carmelites & Irish Independence
Saturday, October 31, 2–3:30 p.m. at Glucksman Ireland House, NYU
Join us on Saturday, October 31 at 2 p.m. at NYU’s Glucksman Ireland House (1 Washington Mews at Fifth Avenue just south of Eighth Street) for a revealing talk on the roles of the Carmelite Friars of New York in supporting efforts on behalf of Irish freedom in the early decades of the twentieth century. As institutions concerned with understanding the Easter Rising prepare to honor the 100th anniversary of the events of 1916, this timely program should be unusually rewarding. Reserved seating is required. Please call Ireland House at 212-998-3950 and select option 3. You may also reserve by sending an email to ireland.house@nyu.edu. Reception to follow. Suggested donations: GIH members free. NYIHR: $5, Public: $10.
