Discover the richness that was and is
Irish New York.

Founded in 1984, the New York Irish History Roundtable promotes interest in and exploration of the 300-year history of people of Irish heritage in New York City, with a focus on discovering family history and encouraging historical understanding.

Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month, and the Roundtable celebrates it with pictures of some of the women (Irish & Irish-American) who helped make the history of Irish people in New York. We invite you to the Roundtable page on Facebook to see—among others—participants in the 1911 debut of Irish women’s sports in New York and the first organized contingent of women (members and supporters of Cuman na mBan) to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The year was 1918.
